Energetic Exercise

Over the past few weeks I’ve really noticed when I haven’t exercised as much as my body needs too. Just like stale air in our home can build up if we don’t open the windows & make the place feel yucky energy in our bodies can get stale if we don’t clear it out. I’ve been feeling sluggish & heavy within my body, not a good sign. We need to be flushing out our systems & moving the energy through to prevent a build up which then can manifest into physical symptoms. Exercise is perfect for that.

We are constantly evolving and what worked for me a year ago may not be having the same effect today. This is very true for how much exercise I need. I’ve pulled back on my yoga practice to a ‘maintenance’ level as far as my physical body is concerned. I’m not practicing half as many classes a week as I used too.

Another shift for me is that exercise is no longer about keeping the kilos off. This has been my biggest “ah ha” moment of late. In the past I’d slog it out at the gym, group fitness classes & at yoga with the aim of loosing or maintaining my weight. Epic fail. My weight was constantly yo-yoing. Once my focus shifted within & I ‘gave up’ focusing purely on weight loss magic things happened.

All the work I have done spiritually has made me realize how essential it is to work all four of my bodies in unison – physical, emotional, mental & spiritual in order to be balanced. When I was just focused on the physical body and disregarded the other three of course I wasn’t going to get anywhere. Inside had to change first in order to manifest on the outside. Once I realized this & listened to what my Soul was telling me literally my physical body took on the shape it was meant to be with a lot less effort and complicatedness. Soul is simple.

Sorting out my emotional baggage, getting on my spiritual path & focusing on doing what I love has been the best diet & weight loss program ever. I no longer need a layer of padding around my solar plexus to hide behind. The self-doubt has gone & so have the kilos. It was that straight forward for me*.

For the past year easing off the hard-core exercise has been good for me. It’s been about maintenance, relaxing, nourishing and taking it easy. It’s time to ramp it up again. As I mentioned above physical exercise goes far deeper into the invisible plane. I’ve started to notice the more healing & teaching work I under take the more exercise I need to be doing.

Why? I need to clear my system of any stale energy or emotions that might attach to me from my work. No matter how much protection or spiritual hygiene one does before or after a session a physical release is also needed. Exercising is part of my spiritual hygiene now. Energy, especially emotional energy, can get stored and stuck in every cell of our body. A physical flush out helps release this.

The Bikram Yoga I practice & teach is an amazing release for me. I can literally feel the blockages being sweated out my pores & left on my mat. Yoga of any kind is beneficial.  Yoga asana work deep into the body to a cellular level. It’s not muscles and joints that get worked out, the respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic & endocrine systems get a good going over.  The constant compression and extension of every part of our body inside & out helps flush fresh high speed oxygenated blood through it. Within this blood the stale energy is released & pushed through as well.

For example different energies get stored in different parts of our bodies. Self-doubt is stored in the stomach and fear in our kidneys. During a deep backward bend by compressing into our kidneys that fear is released. Ever get a bit scared when backward bending? It’s totally normal as its all that fear being released.

It’s important to keep our physical body strong & healthy in order to bring in more light. Light (love) raises vibration & assists greatly in the connection with Soul. Recently I’ve started getting headaches & feeling really lethargic. Signs I have not been releasing as much energy as I need to be. This has kept me away from the yoga room. When what I needed was to get in there! My vibration was lowering, as I wasn’t keeping on top of my practice.

Further assurance came when I took a well over due yoga class. I’ve missed yoga. I need it more than ever now to keep clean & clear. Lying in the pool of sweat, with the lights dimmed after class I was so at peace. Opening my eyes who knows how long later I was alone, content & lighter in more ways than one.

I’m sure my body and Soul will tell me when it’s time for a change again. Something new in the exercise field or just dial it down again. Till then the hot room is calling me home.

Personal Inventory

With just four months left of the year I feel it’s time to take stock, step it up & get things done. I feel the current energy flow is quite frenzied. The end of the year is looming & there is such urgency to ‘get on track’ with things we might have been putting off before. It’s personal inventory time. Take responsibility for our own lives.

A lot have people have woken up (including me) to their spiritual journey over the past few years. Another term I like is ‘remembering.’ After all we are technically already ‘awake.’ We have remembered where we have come from and now we to need to figure out or ‘remember’ why we are here this time round. Finding out life’s purpose is high on the agenda for most.

At the recent Hay House publishing seminar I attended the vibe was much this frenzied high energy. I picked up on quite a ‘frantic & desperate’ vibe amongst the audience members, in a positive way. The search for answers, help & guidance was certainly ripe in the air. I can relate to this very much. At the end of May I was going through just that. I pushing so hard, really desperate to grow, to gain more knowledge without waiting to let what I already had remembered settle. I ‘needed’ to help others so badly (it’s part of why I’m here) I was shoving my knowing on everyone I could. This got me in some trouble when it wasn’t welcomed.

This search for answers was evident around the trade stands at the event. I wasn’t very impressed with the ‘scrum’ I endured to see what was on offer. I dunno maybe I was expecting a little more from a spiritual crowd. If I’d wanted elbowing in the face or books snatched out of my reach I’d have gone to the Harrods sale tee hee.

This is understandable people are seeking help. It’s hard to suddenly realize everything we have been conditioned to think may well not be one size fits all. We need to forge our own paths, our way. We then turn to those ‘in the know’ on the subject with the skills to tune into the invisible. They can help us understand what we are feeling or experiencing so over time we can learn to figure it for ourselves unassisted.

It’s very easy to hand over our power to those in the ‘spiritual spotlight.’ I was advised not long ago that the metaphysical community is rather like Hollywood. Everyone wants a piece and those in the ‘light’ are literally celebrities whether they like it or not. I’m learning the difference between seeking guidance & using other’s as a crutch. Don’t be putting people on pedestals.

It all come’s back to that personal inventory. Only you can sort yourself out. Take the advice and direction from teacher’s & mentors then make it work your way in your life. If you’re a sheep & follow along it doesn’t matter how great an idea it won’t work for you if it’s not come from you. It is tricky, it does take time to make it your own, in your own unique way.

Ask yourself  ‘are happy right now?’ Are you feeling unsettled, unfulfilled & bored? If you are what would you like to change in your life? Make a list of how you would implement these changes in a no holds barred world. Now go & do it! Stop holding back with if’s, but’s & perceived restrictions. The universe is pushing all of us to be in our excellence right now. You’re so well supported it’s ridiculous! Just trust.

I’m doing just that, trusting. I’ve been feeling the push to make a change in my life. It’s time. I know for sure 100% what I should be doing and it’s not what I’m doing. I’ve set the ball in motion, I’ve done my stock take & the resistance is flooding in fast. That is a sure fired signal of reassurance I’m on the right track with my decision on what to do next…

Watch this space! Ha ha I’m such a tease right?!

Oracle Cards – My Three-Card Spread

It’s a Saturday morning as I write this. I awoke earlier than my planned alarm feeling rested, at peace & ready for a two full days of self-love activities. It amazes me that my body knows just what it needs and isn’t afraid to tell me. I went to bed with the intention of getting a full nights sleep & I got just that.

Getting up earlier than I thought meant I can take my time with my morning routine. I did a full twenty minutes of oil pulling, lit my candles and now I’m drinking my favourite tea. Sitting with the heater on full blast is lovely because no one else is around to complain, “it’s too hot.” I’ve had a few minutes on social media to say ‘hi.’ Lastly I reviewed my week, checked back in my journal & given thanks to the universe for helping me become who I am today. Setting my day up the right way.

Now I’m in a happy space, content, warm and focused. It’s time to pull a three-card spread from my Angel Therapy cards. I introduced you briefly to oracle cards in this post. Today I felt like a good scry 😉 When you work knowingly with the universe it’s amazing how well things flow.  It just makes sense. My cards today are evidence of that. A huge smile spread my face as my question was answered.

A three-card spread works like this. You set your intent, I ask a question out load or in my head. Whilst I think of this question I shuffle the cards. I then get a knowing or I’m told to ‘stop.’ I then pull the top three cards from the pack. The first card you pull goes face up on the left. This is related to your immediate past of the question you asked. The middle card is the present, what you need to know right now. The final card goes to the right. This is the immediate future if you follow the guidance of the middle card on your currant path.

Here’s what I pulled today:

Seren 3 Card Spread

Left: Fairies – You have a strong bond with the fairies, and you life purpose involves helping Mother Nature.

Middle: Heart Chakra – The answer you seek is in your heart right now. Be open to giving and receiving love.

Right: Listen to Your Intuitive Feelings – Your body is receiving accurate messages from the divine.

This selection really resonated with the question I asked. Everything I have learned over the past year on my spiritual journey has taught me to ‘follow my heart.’ Gut instincts are more powerful than we realise. It’s a process, it takes time to shuffle through and get rid of the crap that holds you back. Crap which is usually fear based. The beauty is I will never stop learning, the crap will keep coming up but hopefully over time I will sift through it quicker.

Only the previous day I had a session with my mentor. My cards today fitted in so perfectly with what we went through. The most poignant advice being “Don’t assume you are immediately wrong.” If someone challenges me great but I shouldn’t give into the resistance of self-doubt and instantly think I am wrong. There is no wrong. Everyone is right in his or her own way. The middle and right cards cements this for me. If I follow my heart, trust and listen to my intuitive feelings I’m doing the right thing for me. Just as if anyone follows their own heart it is right for them.

We all receive divine messages. Whether we realise it or understand them is another matter. The explanation from the guidebook for the third card says this, “most of these messages come through in your physical and emotional senses, as your body is extremely sensitive to subtle energies. Sometimes you may not understand your feelings, yet they have accurate, underlying wisdom.”  Doreen Virtue – Angle Therapy Oracle Cards 2006.

The lifestyle I have adopted over the past nine months has really helped me be in tune with my physical body and my intuition. Practicing everyday and tuning into the invisible has helped accelerate my understanding. I can tell when a message is for me or whether it is related to my clients. There is a difference with how I ‘feel’ or ‘hear’ these messages. Trusting in these messages is HUGE part. Once you let go of any ego driven thought and just go with it, the answers speak for themselves. I’m learning everyday & I’m always so hungry for new knowledge I thrive from this.

Onwards and upwards I go. I am living the best possible life for ‘me’ right now. This is what I shall honour and give daily gratitude for. It is hard to keep out of the drama of everyday life. Through my healing work I’m discerning when it is appropriate to get involved and when I should just keep quiet. It’s getting easier, slowly.

My mantra: Discernment, discernment and discernment.

Professional Spiritual Services

Something rattled my cage recently & fired up a spark. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion for sure I respect that but when people I care about get attacked for doing something they truly love I jump up to defend them. Especially when I believe what they are doing is helping the world not exploiting it.

It’s always been a hot subject when it comes to paying for spiritual services. Money is a form of energy exchange it is the way our world works, it brings order and meaning to material goods and services in a fair way. The issue I am bringing to attention is some people believe spiritual services should be free. It is a delicate subject but this discussion can be applied to any service provider, not just the spiritual ones.

I read a comment on FB where someone got very upset about an advert for a professional spiritual service. They were ‘sick of it being about money’ and ‘didn’t like those who feed off those in need.’ Neither do I. I am sure there are business services in all fields out there that aren’t above board and do dodgy things that may be seen as ‘praying on the needy.’ This comment was targeted at a service very dear to me that I know to be 100% genuine, authentic and I was more than happy to pay for. The business in question provides ample complimentary advice daily so it did get my back up that it was being attacked.

Okay here is the issue. The answers you seek are inside of you, every single one us has an infinite library of knowledge imprinted in our Soul for us to access. This spiritual knowledge is free. It is up to us to access it out of our own free will. We also have the ability to heal ourselves and even stop ourselves from developing dis-ease in the first place. However because some of us get ourselves in all sorts of fixes and tangles where our heads are so busy we can’t see the wood for the trees we may need extra help. Help from more experienced people to teach us how to tap into our inner information bank.

Metaphysical mentors and healers provide services just as a personal trainer, life coach or therapist does. These services involve time giving & I believe in paying that person for their time. It’s their time and guidance I am paying for to help me access the ‘free’ information from within. This monetary exchange keeps the balance. Would you get an hours training from your PT then not pay them? Water is a basic human essential need yet we all pay our water rates. If we all knew how to access our free spiritual knowledge for ourselves then I wouldn’t even need to be writing this post.

I feel it is truly wonderful that the gifted Earth Angels amongst us can earn an honest living from charging for their services. The work they do is amazing and why should these people have to give it away for free because someone decided ‘spiritual’ shouldn’t be charged for. They would be stuck in Soul destroying jobs that are not their passion just so they can pay the bills. I for one needed some spiritual guidance, I found a professional service I believed in & was happy for a monetary exchange to happen. It feels good to support these wonderful people in making a profession out of their natural talents. Everyone’s got to eat right?!

There are healers & mentors that only work for donations, trades or pro bono. If you do not wish to pay then seek out one of these people who offer just as good service.

This topic resonates even deeper for me. I am at the stage now with my own healing work that I am ready to place monetary value on my services. If I eventually want to give up my office job and earn a living from my holistic work this is a natural progression for me. My dream of owning my own business & managing my own brand is slowly becoming a reality.

For years I gave away my graphic design services for free. With my crippling self-doubt I didn’t feel worthy or good enough to charge people so I just gave it away for free. Deep inside my Soul was crying out for me to step up to the plate and own my worth. I ended up giving so much away it caused me great pain. Now I charge correctly and people are happy to pay me for the service I provide. Those who still want something for nothing do not even approach me now.

I hit the same mental roadblock again when I was given my Reiki Masters blessing to start charging for my healings. She explained to me the extra factors I had to consider when setting my price. Reiki isn’t just a one-hour session. There is preparation & continued development involved behind the scenes that clients don’t see. I work from home yes but I pay rent and bills for that space this also needed to be considered. I did feel awkward setting a price as the people who let me practice on them when I was learning were now the people whom I would charge.

Following the advice I was given I set my prices after deeply meditating for the answer. The answer came. I set my price and told my clients. I owned my decision. No one questioned and some were even ecstatic that I was taking payments. They’d actually been hanging out to pay me in money rather than bring gifts.

Paying for spiritual services isn’t for everyone. For me I am in support from both sides of the table. Professionals in the spiritual industry have just as much right to earn a living from their gifts as everyone else. They assist people in becoming the best they can be from a place of pure intent & unconditional love. I invite you to support them if you can or wish.
