Sharing Crystals

Hands up who loves crystals?

They are truly magical agreed? Just being in the presence of these sparkling, colourful, & energetic divine beings is uplifting. Crystals make me happy.

There are so many books, websites, courses & information out there we can turn too to find out more about crystals: how to use them, what they mean, healing benefits & what not.

However as I have evolved my views of what I have ‘learned’ are now changing. I am questioning this borrowed knowledge I’ve gathered from others. The external sources are great to get started but it’s the ‘internal’ knowledge where I will now find that I am seeking. The true learning comes from within us.

It is the ways I use my crystals I am now ‘unlearning’ what I have learned. Especially around the whole theory of ‘not allowing others to hold, use or touch’ your personal crystal collection.

“I don’t want other people’s energy being transferred onto my precious crystals”

I hear you say. Allow me to explain further dear one’s.

Crystals are energy bodies that are called upon to help shift stale energies, blocked emotions, enhance healing, bring balance and amplify love. From their work crystals collect & absorb energy from other beings or environments. When crystals are picked up & touched energy can be transferred.

This is where people can get a bit touchy about others getting touchy with their crystals.

I learned early on to ‘not let others touch my crystals.’ A huge big fat NO. I’ve had people literally scream at me whilst admiring (from a distance out of respect) ‘don’t touch my crystal!’
We form bonds with our crystals. They are special & we cherish them, which is lovely. It does seem natural that you may wish to keep them ‘just for you’ especially if you are working on some big stuff with them. This is totally your choice, if you feel this is what you wish to do then please do.

It seemed natural that I myself adopted the same principle. Having a melt down when eager fingers went reaching around my collection. I actually felt nauseous once when someone was getting well involved with my crystals uninvited. When I shared this with another healer she said:

“Just show’s how unconscious they are, *tut*, just helping themselves without permission.”

Hello fear, judgment & negativity those wonderful emotions we all try so hard not to attach too.

“If you touch my crystal then it’s tainted. It’ll have all you junk all over it, what shall I do it’s ruined”

You get the idea.

This notion just didn’t sit well with me; this is not what I’m about. I’m a giver, a sharer & just love getting everyone involved together.

That was before let’s come back to the present moment. I can’t remember when the switch in perspective happened exactly & I don’t think it matters. Now I feel I do not have the right to lock away my crystals & not share them with whom ever is drawn to them. Crystals need to be out there for everyone to experience.

Looking back now I feel I felt nauseous over people touching my crystals because it didn’t feel right to deny the interaction. When life doesn’t flow as it should it gets uncomfortable. I was uncomfortable thinking ‘they shouldn’t be touching’ which was a ‘learned’ behavior from external resources. It wasn’t my true feeling. I actually wanted to hand over the crystals for people to look at & share. ‘Here hold this beauty & feel its energy.’

This is why is it advised to cleanse your crystals often. They are high vibrational beings that we should honour & respect. It’s common courtesy to thank them for their work by making sure they are cleansed & charge. (Just like you feed & water your pets, crystals need looking after too)

Cleansing is so simple & effective. It really isn’t a huge drama. Share your crystals then cleanse them, easy.

Now when I go within my own Soul to ask about this subject it feels so right to share. Actually I feel a sense of joy & love that I am assisting these magnificent beings to do the work they came here to do.

If someone comes into my space & are instantly drawn to picking up every crystal in there then they can. It’s what they need. The crystals are singing to them to be held. They have a job to do & they are far more evolved than I & know what they are doing. The crystals do their work by attracting those they are here to help in this way. Some people may not be open to having a healing session with me but simply holding a crystal they are drawn too (consciously or unconsciously) they see around my house they will receive the energy they need right there & then.

Help yourself to any of these!

I feel now I do not ‘own’ the crystals (or any of the metaphysical ‘tools’) in my care shall I say. They chose me as a caretaker & I brought them home so their work can reach many people. They belong to themselves; I am merely providing a space for them to work out of.

Be free now to have a go with anything in my healing room: crystal, oil, essence, silk, book or oracle cards – if you are drawn to them please use them. I fully trust you will get the healing you need. After all it is your own deep inner wisdom attracting you to the crystal, not me. You are healing & empowering yourself by this self-selection. I am here to hold space & facilitate, it’s in your own power to heal yourself.

Learning to Love Challenges

It’s a great gift to see & seek out the joy in every situation. Even within the dark, messy stuff there is light to be had. There has to be, it’s the law of nature that there is an equal & opposite of everything. Good/bad, black/white, up/down & so on. The challenge is to find the good stuff within what often is a challenge within it’s self.

Following? Let me explain a little further….

A major observation I’ve found by living a consciously aware life is that challenges or tests show up often. More than often actually, it’s kind of constant.

“But why” I sigh, “not again” I cry.

It’s like riding a freaking roller coaster at times. Just as life is sweet, flowing along nicely whoosh down it goes.

Of course it does.

Hello it’s called evolution, moving forward & all part of this wonderful spiritual life we lead. It’s part of the journey or process.

Choosing to live at one with the universe (aka consciously) I need to walk my talk. No good just preaching how good meditation & yoga is for all the Soul if I’m not actually doing these things myself. That is not authentic, it’s just bullsh*tting.

To keep me on my toes & make sure I’m walking this talk of mine the universe sends me wee tests or challenges. You know just to make sure I’m on track. If I’m doing my work & floating around in that Zen zone 24/7 the universe will pitch a curve ball to see if hit a home run or strike out.

Home run: I stay calm, centered & breathing when faced with a challenge exhaling love & rainbows.

Strike out: I fall off kilter, have a melt down, throw my toys out the pram & generally loose my shiz.

The result depends on how big a test I receive & how many times it has shown up before. Challenges will repeat till you get them, again & again & again. What fun!

Can I just say here it’s okay to have meltdowns. I find a minor meltie here & there is actually healthy for me. Again it’s part of the learning curve. It’s good for me to express my emotions this way, as it’s the ‘black’ or ‘dark’ side coming out. Instead of hiding it away, buried deep inside. This is not good as trapped emotions fester & grown into unwanted physical manifestations.

Acknowledging the reaction is important. Okay I reacted wildly but in a controlled & expressive manner that didn’t hurt or offend anyone. That’s that out the way now I can see clearly what blessings the challenge that fueled said reaction has.

Even better when the melt down doesn’t happen at all (home run). The challenge presents, I step back calmly, take a look around from all angles, breathe & look for the gold. This is where I meet the universe half way & say ‘yes I got this, I’m walking my talk.’ Next!

For example there has been lot’s of shifts & changes over the past year with my yoga-teaching roster. I’ve grown to expect this now as the businesses I work for evolve, teachers come & go, things change etc.

If one of my classes changes I’m very cool about it now. Staying calm, not panicking about money or scrambling around looking for other classes that fit my logistics better. If a door shuts it means I now have space to invite something new & fresh in. Opportunities always will present & more often than not they are for the better. How awesome is that?

I’ve done the freaking out bit in this area, now I only react with love & excitement about what new things will step into my life now. Far more easier.

It’s the same with my Reiki training workshops. If I don’t have anyone booked in I don’t go on the big pushy marketing mission to fill the spaces. I keep putting it out there softly till a few days before. (Sometimes people book in literally the day before & I’m ready to receive them) Then trust if no one presents it means I need the weekend off for some well-deserved self-love time. What a treat, a free weekend, totally unexpected, embrace & enjoy. Not worry I should have kept my yoga class or allow ‘I’m not good enough’ self-doubt or ‘but why’s’ to step in.

Be in the flow with the natural ebbs & waves of life. Ride along, not against the current & even with the odd river rock to send you off course, sail on around. Look for the joy to be had in everything around you.

Next time you are faced with a challenge that shakes your boat. Take a look at the bigger picture. Within the perceived doom & gloom there will be some light. Turn bad on it’s head to find the good. See the test the universe has sent you to see how blooming awesome you are doing. Conquer & receive! What an achievement.

Ocean Cleansing Ritual

What a huge energetic weekend we have just experienced with the Winter (or Summer) Solstice. Some people might have felt a touch flat over the past week, getting sick & clearing out. Others more energized than ever, I certainly was! I’m feeling strong, centred & energized. However I did hit a low before the high…

The energetic build up for Solstice started for me around the 11^th & 12^th June just as Mercury went direct. When I am are about to go through a vibrational upgrade energetically I start to feel physical symptoms like lethargy, headache, pains & general grumpiness. It’s a good time to check in with planetary activity too to see if there is a connection. More often than not there is.

When these symptoms or ‘energetic flu’ show up I know it’s time to take it easy (back off & hibernate), be kind to myself & tune into my Soul for some advice. I was guided to do some extra personal work by ramping up my self-care routine. Heal, cleanse & reconnect. With the lessons I learned & took action on from my Mercury Retrograde theme I needed a time out to process.

One self-care routine I’d like to share with you all today is my Ocean Cleansing Ritual.

You can’t beat the ocean energy

Salt water is one of the best ways to assist in cleansing & healing your body. You don’t have to be fully submerged either, just standing in the shallows works just as well. Being bare foot in contact with the earth is very grounding, especially if you have been feeling detached from your bodies. Digging your feet into the wet sand connects you back with Mother Nature & the earth’s vibration.

Here’s what I like to do:

Set my intention: Before connecting with the ocean I decide what it is I’d like to achieve from the ritual. It could be to cleanse away any dense energy/emotions that no longer serve or release past situations that are holding me back or simply to feel grounded & at one.

Say an affirmation: Once you have set your intention put it into an affirmation. For example “Thank you divine Mother Earth & the cleansing ocean to wash away & heal any old stale energy from my being that no longer serves me.” Say your affirmation out loud or in your mind as you step into the sea. Repeat your affirmation as many times as you wish during your ceremony.

Breathe: Take long slow deep belly breaths exhaling with noise for the same, if not longer time. I like to inhale as the water rushes forward, then exhales as the wave retreats. I visualize the water & the breath carrying what I no longer need. Trusting what is let go of is being sent to a better place for recycling by the earth spirits.

Connect: This is the perfect time to tune in with your Soul. Still your mind, disconnect from the chatter & just be. Sink into your heart space, connect, ask questions & listen for guidance.

Move: Movement is a great way to help shift stagnant energy. If your not game enough to take a swim splash around in the water with your feet. Walk up & down the beach on the waters edge. Or back & forth playing chase with the waves.

Take your time: Spend as long as you need during this process. Allow your intuition to guide you as to how long you spend in your cleansing ritual. If you feel drawn sit a while on a rock. You’ll know when the time is right to finish up. For me it’s a sense of lightness, grounding & joy.

Find a good rock & sit a while with you feet buried in the sand

Gratitude: Once your sacred time is coming to a close give thanks to Mother Earth & all beings of the light that have assisted you in your cleansing process. You may wish to bring you hands into prayer position or bow in acknowledgement for the healing you have received. A simple whispered ‘thank you’ is enough too.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my Ocean Cleansing Ritual. Don’t worry if you live nowhere near the coast. Kicking back with a salt-water foot soak or fully relaxing Epsom salt bath is just as good.

Celebrating Your Wins

It’s good to feel on top when everything works out how you desired especially when you’ve been breaking your butt over it. Celebrating your wins is important I learned from my business coaching sessions. It’s nice to reward yourself for a job well done, recognizing your talents & appreciating what you do is valued. Especially if, like me, you are self-employed, who’s going to pat you on the back if you don’t do it yourself right?

How you celebrate can take on different forms:

Shout it from the rooftops, ring your bestie, splash it all over social media, anyway to get it out there on what a grand achievement you’ve just pulled off. Let everyone & anyone bask in your joy & happiness. Share the love!

Reward yourself with a gift. Be it small or extravagant. A massage, the eBook you’ve been dying to read, a shiny new crystal or breakfast at your favourite spot.

Sit quietly alone to connect. Tell yourself what a wonderful, empowered & brilliant Soul you are for walking your talk & reaching your goal. Party for one right here, cue solo happy dance.

Simply smile & say well done you.

All of the above!

Celebrate in any way that makes you feel good about your win.

For me I’d always go with numbers 1 or 2. What better to let the world know how great everything is going for me? Especially to confirm externally that taking that leap from secure salaried job to freelancer is working out.

“Everyone that thought I was mad & just ‘playing’ at this healing/yoga/teaching thing well get this it’s all working out brilliant just look at what I did….”

Focus in closely on the sentence above. It’s not flowing from the heart is it? It’s coming from my head, oozing with self-doubt searching for confirmation & I’m basically talking to myself. Putting it out there to validate (to myself) that I’m doing okay. Looking for external gratification from others for a job well done instead of sinking into my heart space & just thanking myself privately.

I don’t need to broadcast it to the world how well I’m doing. Knowing inside that my efforts have paid off is enough. Just as in numbers 3 & 4. It’s nice to keep things sacred, just for me. ‘Knowing’ & ‘acknowledging’ to myself I’ve done well is the highest reward possible. Gratitude toward myself will nourish my Soul, enrich my heart & solar plexus Chakras & bring me joy. This will then radiate outwards. Others will pick up on my success by my presence, the smile on my face & the positive energy I emanate. “Everything must be going really well for you Kat, you’re glowing & always so cheerful” is a comment I often hear. The external will congratulate you without fishing for it 😉

It’s fine to share your wins on social media, don’t get me wrong. I’m slowly starting to get back into it but from a place of love & gratitude, instead of ego & head inflating intentions. Posting to thank the beautiful people who have trusted in me for a healing session, Reiki training or sending kind words of support. It’s awesome to celebrate those kind & loving people who encourage me too. A double celebration!

Another nice (from the heart) reason to share wins in public is you never know who will read them. Someone in the world may well be searching for some inspiration to start their own business or follow their passions. Reading about others out there who are doing what they’d like to do may well be the encouragement they need to take the first leap. Share from the heart to inspire others to discover the greatness within them.

Even number two started to not sit that well with me. Buying something ‘material’ as a reward. More ‘stuff’ to accumulate. Why not make a donation to charity instead? Give a gift to someone else just because (homemade edible treats are perfect). Reward yourself with an afternoon off to walk on the beach & watch the sun set.

What I do now is wait to buy something I’m really lusting after & use this as my reward. (Gives me chance to really decide if it’s a want or a need as well) I’m not a huge spender anymore. Pretty much what I invest in has some sort of healing benefit not just for me but also for others. Like an essential oil, a crystal or card deck I can use in my sessions or share with my partner. That way it will give me that extra push to work hard to get it as more than just me will gain.
