Energetic Flu

How have you all been the past two weeks? My blogs technical upgrade has been completed. I’m now coming to you fully self-hosted! (thanks to 123host & the legend that is Steve.) If anything isn’t working or looks a little weird just bare with me, there’s still a bit of house keeping to be done.

What’s been happening for me since we last connected? Energetically there has been a lot going on. I’ve been riding quite the roller coaster since the Full Moon in Virgo on March 16^th. It was extremely high energy with the theme of health & well being really coming through. Combined with the powerful Autumn Equinox on March 20^th & some huge solar flares I have been feeling a little out of sorts.

For me it all started on the afternoon of March 15^th. I’d enjoyed a lovely lunch with some fellow Perth bloggers at the Raw Kitchen in Fremantle. Wholesome food & soul sharing was the prefect way to spend a Saturday arvo. When I returned home I started to feel really drained, tired & nauseous. The first thing I thought of was spiritual hygiene. I’d spent the afternoon with new people in a quite a busy environment. A thorough cleanse of my field & some cord cutting would do the trick.

It didn’t. As the evening went on I felt sicker & sicker. I knew it could not have been the food as it was raw & fresh. It wasn’t any dense energy I’d picked up from being in town as I had cleansed. What was it then? Ah the Full Moon was brewing & solar flares were going off.

I spend the rest of the evening curled up on the couch feeling like I needed to throw up. My head was spinning & I couldn’t face eating or drinking. I had a bought of ‘energetic flu.’

What is energetic flu?

Everything that was going on in March has been leading up to the eclipse season in April. It’s been a great time for releasing, letting go, clearing out & moving on. For some people, like myself, I was feeling this energy shift on a physical level, my body wanted to purge – this what I call energetic flu. Energetic flu is like the physical flu just without all the symptoms or any actual reason for it, like a bug or food poisoning. Some people experience the aches & pains without the fever. Others have the fever without the aches. My symptoms were dizzy, nausea, headaches & lethargy. I was also really sensitive to heat & was constantly on the boil.

Isn’t that physical flu then?

It’s hard to describe. It doesn’t ‘feel’ the same as physical illness when it’s on an energetic level. Now I can tell if I’m energetically sick when physical symptoms show up or actually sick. This time is was energetic. There just wasn’t any real reason for it & it just didn’t feel like a typical physical illness.

How did you know the difference?

I could still do my work & function unlike if I had actual flu when I’d be bed ridden. I wasn’t drained fully of energy; it just wasn’t flowing.

On a much deeper level I knew things were shifting & changing for me. When I start feeling like I did I know I am on the verge of a frequency upgrade. From when this has happened before I know it’s time to rest & let the energy settle. With rest & lots of water it usually passes fairly quickly.

Some extra guidance from the Universe

I looked for some extra guidance to what was going on for me by pulling three Healing with the Fairies cards. The moment I pulled the cards my left ear started ringing in a very high pitch; a sure signs there were some strong messages awaiting me.

Vacation, detoxification & rise above your problems came up. These all resonated for sure. I’ve been going hard building my business, teaching & presenting workshops. I have a holiday booked for over Easter but I just know I need to start slowing down, easing off & prioritising NOW. If I don’t it will be holiday time & the moment I stop I’ll more than likely get sick.

Detoxification, yes I do need a detox on a health level. My diet has been a bit too much grain & diary based of late. I’ve been sneaking in a few more black teas than usual. This is very much inline with the planetary activity right now.

Rise above problems, indeed I must. Most of my perceived ‘problems’ are so first world I really should know by now to just let them wash through. Wasting valuable energy worrying about the small things does not serve me. I’ll just attract more lower energies. Focusing on what I’m doing well & keeping my thoughts positive is far more productive.

Looking after myself during an energetic flu

Rest & water is number one. The nausea lasted about three days then the headaches kicked in. Just on the right hand side of my temple, like a tight throbbing ball. Water is so important to flush any stale energy through our system as well as keeping us hydrated so our physical bodies function.

It was really hard to shift this one through. Literally the headache was on & off for a few days. Spending so much time in the hot yoga room has challenged me further in keeping extra hydrated. Thankfully it has gone now!

*Side note – I know my body pretty well, inside & out. If you are in pain or symptoms persist for a number of days please go see your doctor. If my symptoms hadn’t lightened up I would have done so too. Holistic healing works in conjunction with all Western medicine, it does not replace professional medical care.

Healing sessions, mediation & crystals were my go too for self-care also. Usually I receive Reiki every four to six weeks. In March I doubled up, two healing sessions a week for me to really get things out. I chose different modalities so that I was receiving from different healers. Everyone brings their own personal vibration & knowledge to the table so the more variety I received the better.

I ramped up my meditation practice. One day I even did three sessions. The crystals I worked with for the headache & general healing were amethyst, purple & green fluorite & rose quartz. All very gentle & soothing crystals. Wearing an amethyst mala really helped balance the energy that was buzzing around in my head.

Rescheduling any jobs that weren’t 100% urgent allowed me the time to rest up. I’d been feeling some pain in my lower back. This is my indication that I’m putting too much pressure on myself. What could wait till later got pushed back a week.

Now as we close on March & welcome in April I’m feeling so much stronger again. Leaving behind all that does not serve me. Clearing out physically & mentally. I’m ready to move onto the next challenge & what April may bring.

Here we go again its Mercury Retro!

Those who follow the planet cycles will know it’s that time again for Mercury to go into retrograde. Friday 7^th February it all kicked off for the first time this year. Mercury retrogrades are all about communication. It’s the perfect time to speak up & speak out authentically. For a more in depth explanation & daily commentary check out Elizabeth Peru’s FB page.

I really enjoy a good retro period, as it’s a great chance to review & make changes. The only thing I don’t like is that communication technology does go a bit bonkers. Don’t be shocked if your phone, ipad, computers & other electrical equipment start to do their own thing.

The pre-shadow phase of this retrograde started on January 22^nd. Think back to that time & what was going on in your life. This will be your theme to work on from February 7^th to 27^th.

For me it’s all about boundaries this time around. Learning to say ‘no’ is a struggle. I hate letting people down, especially if something sudden comes up & they need assistance. However I often say ‘yes’ to things out of guilt, obligation & trying to be nice. I take on extra work & ‘I’ end up suffering for it. In others words I become run down because I give up my days off or my business suffers, as I have to put projects on hold. Projects that bring me great joy & will help grow my dream life. Putting others needs before mine own is counterproductive & makes for a bad energy exchange.

My challenge this time round is more when I’m put on the spot in person. When this lesson has come up before I learned not to reply to texts or emails straight away. I would step back, sink into my heart & ask within for the answer to what I should do. I’d have the time to properly review my schedule & workload. Then make an authentic decision. More often than not I can find a compromise & come back with a good exchange this way. Everyone is happy then.

However when something is proposed in person or on a phone call I dither. More often than not I’ll say yes without thinking it through from the heart. Being put on the spot for an answer I just jump in & say yes to please the other party. Time to change this reaction.

My retro theme will take strength & courage. I have a strategy though!

If I am asked in person to help out with something I will politely excuse myself to check my diary first. It is very important to move away & be in my own space for this. Someone can easily be peeking over your shoulder at the diary & clearly see a blank space & that may lead to questioning. Once away from the situation I will be able to sink within for my answer whilst cross checking my schedule. If I am available & my heart says yes, all is well.

However if there is a space in my day due to scheduled down time or business building that is when I really need to assess my needs first. Can I move things around? When is my next day off? It’s also not just the day in question that needs reviewing, it’s the days before & after. No good taking on extra work on Tuesday if I’m flat out crazy busy Monday & Wednesday. I will help others more if I have attended to my needs first as I’ll be in a better place to serve.

Hay House – I Can Do It 2013

It’s mini break time! I’m so excited to be getting out of the state for a few days of space change. It’s been six months since I had my last weekend interstate so I feel I’m well over due a quick get away. Whilst I’m out & about why not work in some metaphysics fun whilst I’m at it?

Hay House Publishing are hosting the ‘I Can Do It’ seminar in Melbourne this coming weekend. I’m only attending the Sunday event as I would like to spend some time sight seeing around Melbourne and catching up with my East Coast friends. Alas I will be missing Deepak Chopra & Dr Wayne W. Dyer BUT I get to see Doreen Virtue!!!

Doreen is my main drawn card for this event. Two whole hours of Angelic talk & hearing about her new book The Miracles of Archangel Gabriel. I’m a huge fan of Doreen’s books and oracle cards. It’s a good job I’m travelling with hand luggage or else I’d be stocking up on the retail stands. (Hmm oracle cards don’t take up that much room/weight?!)

The other Sunday speakers look very interesting too. Especially Sonia Choquette who will be talking about tuning into your intuition ‘to transcend the strictures of an ego-driven existence and experience the joy and fulfillment of a intuitively-guided, Spirit-driven life’. This resonates greatly with how I live my life now & I’m interested to hear someone else techniques & experience in this area.

Dr Joe Dispenza’s lecture looks fascinating, ‘You are not doomed by your genes and hardwired to be a certain way for the rest of your life.’ I love this, so many people I talk to are all about ‘it’s hereditary, there’s no escaping it coz it’s in my gene makeup.’ I’d like to hear the other side of this that maybe hereditary will become a thing of the past?

All very exciting. To top it off I have a healing session booked in with my mentor too on the way home. Will be great to touch base again in person and finish the weekend off with some self-care.

Chapels on Whatley

No recipe today, instead it’s back on the tea trail. A few weeks back I had a girly catch up afternoon at a lovely place in Maylands, Perth. Chapels on Whatley is an eclectic mixture of antique furniture, art, home wares and a teashop. My friend had already been before and raved about the unlimited tea drinking. Just up my street. Two hours of unlimited tea for $5.50. They are strict about the two-hour time limit. After reading some reviews it sounded quite scary that you may be in danger of being de-tabled as soon as your time is up. Understandable as everyone should get the chance to have some tea.

I should know better than to read reviews, especially one’s that bag out the service & I was right. I went with no expectations so I had no disappointments. We had a lovely time. The place was heaving with the tail end of the Saturday afternoon lunch rush. We arrived about 2pm. Great time as we did become exempt of the two-hour limit & were left quietly to enjoy our endless tea for nearly three hours.

Breakfast and a simple lunch menu are offered. Expect the stupid higher end prices Perth is now experiencing. Think $15 for a vegetarian bagel. We skipped lunch and went straight for dessert. (Under $10) There is a vast selection of sugary goodness, including homemade macaroons that were huge. We opted for the homemade profiteroles with ice cram and berries. Yum yum. Alas I scoffed mine before taking a photo.

This was all washed down with (I lost count) five or six pots of tea. Chapels imports over 60 varieties from throughout China. We tried white, green, black, infused herbal of different kinds, there were so many to choose from. The deal is you order one pot at a time you can have a pot each but not more than two pots at a time per table. We just shared a pot each time so we could get through more flavours. The tea wear is fabulous. We started with fine bone china before the glass came out for the infusions. Not a tea drinker, fret not. Chapels serve the very tasty Yahava (Pronounced ‘Java’) coffee from Margaret River or the usual range of soft drinks. Chapels is a licensed venue so not BYO.

What a divine way to spend the afternoon sipping tea and catching up on news. There is plenty of parking around or over the road in the train station. Perthlings check it out for sure!
